Tires and Wheels:

  • Check front and rear tire pressure.
    • Inspect tires for any signs of wear, damage. Ensure axle nuts,sprocket and brake rotor bolts are securely tightened.
  • Check for any bent or damaged rims.
  • Air Cleaner:
  • Check air cleaner and replace as needed
  • Controls:
  • Check throttle for smooth operation and proper cable tension.
    • Ensure brake levers are functioning properly and adjusted to preference.
    • Test clutch lever for smooth engagement and proper adjustment.
  • Verify that handlebars are straight and securely tightened.
  • Fluids:
  • Check engine oil level and top off if necessary.
    • Inspect coolant level and ensure it’s within the recommended range.
    • Check brake fluid level and inspect for any leaks.
  • Ensure fuel tank is filled to the desired level.
  • Electrical System:
  • Verify that the kill switch is operational.
  • Test the starter motor to ensure it’s working.
  • Chassis:
  • Inspect frame for any cracks or damage.
    • Check suspension components for leaks, damage, or excessive wear.Clean fork tubes and inspect for nicks – smooth nicks out with 600 grit sand paperEnsure chain tension is correct and lubricated properly.
  • Inspect sprockets for wear and replace if necessary.
  • Exhaust System:
  • Check exhaust for any leaks or damage.
  • Ensure exhaust and silencer is securely attached.
  • Safety Gear:
  • Check that helmet, goggles, gloves, boots, and other protective gear are in good condition.
  • Ensure any additional safety equipment, such as neck braces or chest protectors, are clean and ready to go.
  • General Inspection:
  • Look for any loose or missing bolts, nuts, or fasteners and tighten or replace as needed.
  • Inspect the overall condition of the motorcycle for any visible damage or abnormalities.
  • Fuel System:
  • Check fuel lines for any signs of wear, leaks, or blockages.
    • Ensure fuel tank vent is clear.
  • Test fuel petcock for proper operation on non-fuel injected bikes.
  1. Final check:
  • Test front and rear brakes for responsiveness and adjust if necessary.
